The Italon measurement data monitor (MDM) is designed to display the fuel volume in tanks without any additional devices, directly from wired Italon fuel level sensor or wireless Italon Bluetooth low energy (BLE) fuel level sensors.

Intelligent Fuel Management Solution

Using device

Italon BLE MDM can work in next modes:

  • Mode 1 – work via RS-485 in mode request – response. When connects to a wired digital fuel level sensor (FLS) via an RS-485 interface.
  • Mode 2 – work via RS-485 in only receiving mode. When you use this device with any devices (like GPS-tracker), which requests devices in RS-485.
  • BLE Mode – work via BLE in only receiving mode. When Italon BLE MDM receiving data from Italon BLE FLS.

Operation without additional devices
The MDM displays fuel volume directly from fuel level sensors, without the need for GPS trackers or other external equipment.

Support for wired and wireless sensors
Compatible with wired ITALON digital fuel level sensors via RS-485 and wireless ITALON Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) fuel level sensors.

Multiple operating modes
The device supports multiple operating modes, including RS-485 Master mode for active polling of fuel level sensors, RS-485 Slave mode for receiving data when another master device is present on the bus, BLE mode for direct reception of data from Bluetooth Low Energy sensors, as well as a BLE-to-RS-485 repeater mode that allows wireless sensor data to be transmitted over an RS-485 interface.

Use of calibration tables
Fuel volume is calculated using calibration tables stored in the device’s internal Flash memory.

Multi-tank support
The MDM can display fuel level for each tank individually as well as the total fuel volume from multiple tanks.

Temperature monitoring
Supports displaying temperature data from 1-Wire sensors (DS18B20) in any operating mode.

Standalone operation
The device can be used as a fully standalone fuel level indicator.

Wireless configuration via BLE
Device setup and configuration are performed via Bluetooth using a mobile application (Android / iOS).

Multiple sensor connectivity
Supports connection of up to:

  • 4 wired fuel level sensors,
  • 4 BLE fuel level sensors,
  • 4 1-Wire temperature sensors.

Wide power supply range
Operating power supply voltage from 9 to 36 V.

Ingress protection
Device enclosure protection rating: IP65.
